Not much to report…

Sorry for the lack of updates, I guess I feel like the news I’ve got is old news. To be honest, I take a step back, take a breath, and it’s hard not to get a little overwhelmed. Luckily, I’m positive it will all pull together, I just need to keep putting one foot in front of the other.

Shipping is set for November 4 in Kansas City. So, everything I’m doing is backed out from that. To give some idea of the current list:

1) Make checklists for what needs to be done each night/ rest day/ etc.

  • Procure all parts that may be needed for the tasks on the checklists
    • Every time I think I’m done, another range of things occurs to me. Do I have the right swingarm pad? Do I have a spare petcock in case I damage one on the bike? Spare needle in case the one in the bike gets worn. The list goes on!
  • Organize those parts into the truck boxes so that they are easy to find, don’t get broken in transit, and are proximate to other parts needed for similar tasks.
2) Finish preparing the bike:
  • Water tank (only remaining fabrication)
  • Final version of nav tower
  • Final version of wiring
  • Final version of fairing
  • About a million little details that are on a list I fear looking at…
  • Locate and mount all the small backup parts that I need on the bike, such as:
    • Spare ICO sensor cable
    • Chain Links
    • Radiator Tape
    • Quicksteel
    • Shifter
    • Clutch lever
    • Front brake lever
    • Hardware
    • River strap
    • Air filter
    • Fuses
    • Regulator Rectifier
    • Spark Plug
    • Throttle Pull Cable
    • Coil
3) Prep stuff:
  • Mount/ balance tires and wheels
  • Break in 2nd Motor
  • Assemble 3rd Motor (with single sump)
  • Build motor crates for transportation
Chris just told me we need to do vaccinations/ immunizations next week as well. And I promised to meet one of my close college buddies in Utah for a ride. On top of this, I’ve got some actual work (uggh) that is due right now and I’m trying to bust that out, and I’ve been trying to keep up on exercise.
I’m just going to stay after it!
